NEED HELP WITH A WILD BIRD??
We get a lot of inquiries about wild birds who have been injured or baby birds that have been found. Unfortunately, we do not work with wild birds and so our best option is to direct inquiries to experts in wildlife rehabilitation. In addition, wild birds are protected by state regulations and it is illegal to care for, house, or transport them unless you are certified through the Department of Natural Resources. Aside from being illegal, caring for a wild bird without proper training often leads to the death of the animal.
We encourage anyone who has found an injured wild bird (or any wild animal) to immediately contact their local DNR office and/or their local animal control agency for assistance. Below is a link for the Michigan Humane Society with some really great information about what to do if you find a wild animal in need of help as well as a link to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
The CBH family applauds those who care enough to take responsibility for an animal in need! Your generous spirit and compassionate hearts make this world a better place!!
